The engine is probably ok. The valves on the cylinder head will likely need replaced along with having the cylinder head milled. The original cylinder head might be in better shape, so take that with you to the shop to get an estimate on both of them.

So, we found out what caused this, the actual cover and the screw too the two pulley's for the belts. I will post sum pic's up soon, also, if the valves don't look bent or nothing it could still be saved right. Can some one please tell me, pic's up in about 20 min

1st pic - where's the square key that fits into that keyway? Don't lose it.

You can't see valve damage from the top, you gotta see the bottom of each valve. But here's what you can do...

Rotate the crankshaft directly towards 90-degrees away from TDC. Forwards or backwards, but don't turn it through TDC or BDC. Now all 4 pistons are at mid-stroke & you can do whatever you want with the camshaft.

Go through the motions of adjusting the valve lash. Any valve that's bent will probably have tons of excess clearance. If you find any like that, you may as well pull the head off.

If they're OK, then turn the camshaft to TDC#1. Now turn the crankshaft forward or backwards but DIRECTLY to TDC. Then install the belt.

Good news, the car is FINE! I guess I was going to slow to damage anything.

Hey guys, I just picked up a 92 Accord LX that is doing this same thing. it starts and idles fine but when you try to rev it up it gets to 3000rpm and then it starts to spit and pop like it is misfiring. I originally thought it was the fuel pump causing this because when I tested the pressure I only had 32psi when the vacuum hose was disconnected from the regulator and 28 when it was connected and it should have been 40-47psi. So I changed the fuel filter and pump and still have the same issue. This car does not have a crank sensor so does anyone have any suggestions on what could cause this same kind of issue????

[quote=ebarrera661;202606]I have a 1996 honda accord dx, that I just swapped engines due to my other frying itself. Any who, now the engine that I have only revs up too 3000 rpm, than acts like a rev limiter. Does anyone have a clue what this is, any help welcomed, and here are sum vids too help out.
