Driver's seat PAIN - thinking of replacing...
OK the pain is enough! After driving > 20 mins, I am in pain for the next hour in the hips and butt area. (I'm 5'10", 195 lbs, fairly normal proportions, no back problems, history, injuries, chiropractic visits ...nothing.)
But Honda has designed the 2005 Accord EX driver's seat so poorly. Maybe Japanese people are built differently... Something has to change. (And, yes, I've tried everything: Lumbar support, every angle you can imagine, pillows, cushions, repositioning my legs...everything). No problem with any other car, even my other Hondas. Tried consulting Honda..."No one has EVER complained before..."
So... I am thinking of replacing the seat with a third-party seat. Can anyone provide any tips or suggestions or experiences?
And yes, I know it has to be done super-well because of the Safety implications.
Thanks for any and all suggestions.

One of the other options is to find an upolstery shop and have them replace the foam/padding (memory foam perhaps?) and recover it with the origonal cover. That might be the cheapest route.

That's not a common complaint, but I've seen it a few times. The last was about 5 years ago. We used an exacto knife to trim the seat cushion so that it fit his butt better. Turned out good, he was happy.

that issue would come and go in my 94. i just put a sweatshirt or something to provide support. be careful if you go the exacto-knife route...airbags in the seat.
