dumb question

RE: dumb question
On my auto tranny, no funnel that Strauss had would fit the straw. I wound up using my tranny funnel with a piece of my blue silicone tubing and a small larger piece as an adapter ...... kinda ghetto, but it worked and didn't leak ..... I'd fill the funnel and leave for a half hour or so, then fill it again, etc. It's been too cold for me to spend the time under the hood of the tc to figure out where everything is and how it works ..... and I've been learning how to drive the thing. I'm ok now, but I think I'll be good/comfortable in another month.

RE: dumb question
well i figured it out and without knowing it leaked out and my tranny locked up. the guys who put my axles in didnt replace the seals so they didnt hold. im gonna call them and see what they have to say, im kinda pissed at myself for not paying attention but still its there fault.

RE: dumb question
I can't believe all the posts & nobody clearly described this stuff... Here goes, for future victims who find this thread by searching.
Looking throughthe right-side fender, alongside the drive axle. The drain bolt is directly below the axle, & it has a square hole for a 3/8" socket extension (without the socket). Don't open the drain until you know you can open the fill hole.
From the drive axle, the fill hole is at about 9 oclock. It's a noticablylarger bolt compared to the bolts that hold the transmission case together.
With the car sitting on a level surface, fill until the level is right at the fill hole, about to spill out. I use a couple feet of tygon hose attached to a funnel.
