Open up the hood as stated above. The engine code (F22xx) is stamped on the engine just to the left of the exhaust manifold (underneath a radiator hose.) If it is a V6, the engine compartment will look a heck of a lot more cramped. V6's normally have a "V6" badge on the back as well.

Anyone can swap or remove badges from the back of the car. But it's pretty difficult to make an F22 look like a V-6.
Do you have 4 spark plug wires across the engine? Or 3 in front & 3 more in back?
