Default ECT2 on 2007 accord with 03-05 rad

I have a friend who got a radiator for his 2007 Accord and the ECT2 sensor location is clearly the big size hole for the thermal switch. (I assume he was sold a radiator for a 2003-05)

I need a thread adapter or a thermal sensor that fits the larger size hole. (I'll double check, but I think it was M12 1.5 to M18 1.5 or something similar).

Due to it being winter he is not overheating at the moment, and his commute is highway.

Any parts swap geniuses out there know of an easy fix for this that costs less than $20?

Thanks in advance.

Edit: My current best bet is either EQUUS 6862 / 9862 Gauge sender adapter or "GlowShift 1/8-27 NPT Female to M18 P-1.5 Male Thread Adapter" and a M12 1.50mm tap: https://www.acehardware.com/departme...and-dies/23773

Not plug and play because I need to tap it, but might be available locally for around $20

I don't know the thread sizes on the sensors. Does the current ect2 sensor have a gasket to seal, or do the threads seal the sensor?

See attached photo, both are o-ring, also m18x1.50mm male thread to m12x1.50mm female thread is correct. I haven't decided whether I can drill out the temp switch, or use that adapter.

They are straight threads since you have a gasket. I'd probably find the correct thread reducing adapter to install the smaller ECT2 for your car.

The cheapest/most available M18 o-ring/flange fitting I can find is the Rhino 00762114 breather vent. I will have to cut off the breather and tap the center for m12x1.5 threads. This is a ridiculous issue.

I ran across a thread while googling which mentions the radiator may come with the adapter, mine did not as far as I could see.
