ECU revision difference?

ECU revision difference?
ok I feel a bit retarded that I have been searching for a while with no luck...
I currently have ECU# 37820-PT3-L04, and I'm looking to get a new one.
what I do know:
PT3 is for most CB7's
L is for California (A is America) (BTW I live in WA state)
0 for manual
4 revision #
My questions are, whats the difference for "L" vs "A" (performance wise, because I know CA have more strict emission laws) and whats the difference in the revisions?(would I get better performance/fuel economy from a later revision due to better programming?)

I'm sorry for bumping my own thread.... but does no one know? or at least know a good place to look to figure out?(yes, I've tried google...lol) I tried searching "ecu revision change", "ecu pt3-a0X vs pt3-a0X"... and many variations of that...lol

dude all you need is to worry about this "37820-PT3"
none of the other stuff matters and you are not going to find any secret HP with any kinda of different factory ECU.
I told you before and I will say it here as well.
The auto ECU and the 5 speed ECU are the same. Your gen used a separate TCU to control the auto transmission.
All you need is an ECU with this on it "37820-PT3"
You really need to get one ASAP as driving yours with a faulty ECT circuit on it cannot be good for the motor.

I think that you are wrong on this.
The automatic ECU will get some signals from the TCU on an automatic. If you use an automatic ECU on a manual transmission car, then I think the check engine light will turn on.
I think some jumpers have to be moved to convert an auto to a manual ECU. Those jumpers are soldered to the board.

PA - I never dissagree with you but this time i am going to.
1) the wiring for the TCU is seperate from the ECU. No wire from the TCU goes into the ECU.
2) I have seen this discussed at length on other forums and I personally have looked into all the ECU / TCU stuff when I was researching for my 5 speed swap. My research gave me the conclusion that all 4 gen ECUs were the same as well as 94-95 ECUs are the same and either the 5 speed or the Auto could be interchanged.
Now the OP can play it safe but it limits the ECUs he has to choose from.
