Default EGR port cleaning ?s

I did the EGR port cleaning hoping to get better MPG with better engine effeciency. I was thinking about what I did. I know I cleaned straight down into the thrr holes into the intake tract ans the EGR holes. But I didnt push the wire brush back and forth between the holes (left and right). I sprayed about 3/4 of a can of carb cleaner, used an wire brush up and down and vaccummed out ther gunk and carb cleaner.
After cleaning the EGR, IACV, FAIV and cleaning the plugs it started fine. Its been running better than ever.
To get to the questions:
Will not putting the wire brush left to right betwwen the ports matter too much even thought I sprayed a lot?
Would you say its good enough if I notice sucha huge difference already?
Do the new U-shaped EGR port plugs come out as east as the full size brass plug that are orginally put there (cuz they r thin will they tear when drilled and tapped and used with the slide-hammer/puller used to take out the brass plugs which were very easy to get out)?
Sorry for the long post-just running thru stuff in my head.
Thanx

I am assuming that this is a 90-93 accord. Put your car's information in your signature.

Since I never owned a 90-93, I am not sure exactly what you are talking about.

Google T2T013.pdf to see a procedure.

Also, hondadude did a DIY writeup on this. Here is the link. https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/for...ulletin-31102/

yeah its a 93. I did pretty much the whole thing except clean the cross sections between each port. But it runs so much better that Im probably gonna say its good enough for now and not go thru with redoing right now
Thanx
