A box wrench, I loosened the plastic wireharness near it so I could move it down just enough to get like a 1/10th of a turn out of it. Luckily, it was loose as soon as I cracked it so I was able to finger it out the rest of the way. I also had removed just about everything else around it. Distributor, vacuum and small coolant line, intake tube of course. I had to pull the distributor anyways but that's pretty easy.

Im having the same problem with a 95 accord vtec. Have changed the sending unit, vtec solenoid, and valve cover and still pouring oil. Any help on this?

There is also the distributor o-ring in that area. It's pretty easy to change out and I did it as well. You did both vtech gaskets too? That's where my main oil leak source was. Those rubber gaskets just get baked and hardened.

How many miles? I suppose it's possible but unlikely since I've had over 300,000 miles on a headgasket before. Has it been overheated? Have you completely cleaned the engine before trying to locate the leak?
