Engine dieing at speed cant figure out whats wrong
I have a 2000 accord coupe ex 5 speed with an f23a4. The car has about 125000 miles and has never given me trouble up until now. The problem is this. The past few days as im driving around the car will die while im just driving along. When it dies its like the fuel cuts out. If i hit the gas you can still hear the intake sucking in air trying to go but its like theres just no gas or spark. After it dies it wont start up at first but if i wait 5 minutes it will fire right back up no problem. It seem like every thoery i come up with is off and im one steap away from taking it to a shop.
The check engine light was on and and its throwing the p1457 evap leak code but the gas tank seems to be holding a vaccum and im not sure an evap leak would cause stalling like that.
My newest thoery is ether a problem with the distributer or my fuel pump going? Ideas?

Don't assume anything.
Turn the key to the II position, but do not try to start the car. When the check engine light does the bulb check, do you also hear the fuel pump turn on for about two seconds? It is a faint electrical buzzing/whirling sound that comes from the back seat, so turn off the radio, blower, etc.... and listen carefully. Let us know if you can hear the pump.
Do you have a volt meter or a timing light? or an old spark plug?
How many miles are on the maintenance items (spark plugs, distributor cap, and distributor rotor)?
