Engine light comes on after fix again!?
Hi all 1st time poster!
Situation:
After learning that my engine light was on becuase my O2 sensors were shot on my 2001 honda lx 4cyl from my local ripoff mechanic, I declined the 700$ he tried to charge me for the service and installed them myself with no problem. I went to Advance Auto to clear the codes and viola! It was fixed!
Next day i turn key and the happy little engine light goes back on. I go back to Advance Auto and they check the codes. All the codes described O2 sensor trouble that I had already fixed. I had them clear them again, and i have a feeling the light will come back on soon.
I fixed the issue, so why is this happeneing? Could the computer in the car be screwed? Help!

What kind of biclycle do you drive?
All kidding aside, put your accords year, etc in your signature so we know what car your are driving.
When you go to Autozone, write down the specific codes that the ECU is throwing and post those on here. They like P1234, etc.

I'm at a loss. all I want is to get the engine light off so I can pass inspection. So i'll have to go to advance auto paerts tommorow and get it cleared and hopefully it will last through the inspection.

Both of those codes refer to the front sensor, so you shouldn't have been told to replace the rear sensor.
There's wiring connections for you to check too. Check connector C102 (below the engine-compartment fusebox) for loose/dirty/corroded connections.

The wiring could be shorted to ground, cut open or grounding to its own shielding due to chaffing or rubbing on something, not sure how accurate the scanner is to the exact trouble code, the O2 heaters also have a fuse. Does that website refered to have troubleshooting procedures, its worth a look and do it your self, if the light does not come on for a little while, a bump in the road could be shorting out a wire.
I went to a boot camp and the man made $100 in less than 15 seconds when we found a rubbed wire on the O2 harness next the the tranny. It was by accident too, lucky I was paying attention to the tester.

I had heard in the recent past couple of years that the government was going to force car manufactures to post repair info on the internet due to complaints from folks like us. I can see OEM info being posted but that site appears to be using Mitchell On Demand Wire Diagrams, I didnt look at everything, I cant believe its there for free when people pay thousands of dollars for this info, like me.
