EVAP vent shut off help 2007
So I have an EVAP code. I have repacked the purge valve, gas cap and have a new canister and everything but this piece called the vent valve is not located on the canister of my 2007 accord where in the heck is it located. Here is a link to what I am talking about. I have the new canister here no where does it have a spot for this part is it located some place else? I also posted a pic of it.

For future reference please let us know if you have a V6 or 4-cylinder. What code are you getting? You should try to do some diagnostics before wasting money on parts.
I'm not sure which part this is. Do you happen to have an OEM part number?
There is a purge valve that is on the engine near the driver's side of the intake manifold. There is a shut valve attached to the charcoal canister. There is also a fuel tank vapor control valve on top of the gas tank.

Purge vale replaced, gas cap replaced. It’s Code P0455. Which can be the cap, purge valve, canister shut off whatever. It’s a v6. The canister doesn’t have a spot for the shut off like the 2008. How hard is it to get to the top of the fuel tank? I am guessing I would have to drop it. The canister has a valve that comes as part of it, then a filter fits into it. The shut off solenoid is the part in the picture and it has no spot on the canister for it, so I’m assuming that’s what goes on top of the tank. The attached picture is the canister shut valve for the 07 V6 but the actual canister has no spot for it at all.

The canister shut valve is connected to the canister and may have come with the new canister. I typically go to hondapartsnow.com to look at the oem parts diagrams to get an idea of the location. You can also get a shop manual for your accord as a pdf from automanualsource.com for ~$22 and is definitely worth the investment.
P0455 is a large evap leak (the shop manual I referenced above has an error). Did you clear the codes after replacing parts? How quickly did the evap code reappear after you changed the the canister?
Do you have a scanner to read codes? Can it read live PCM data?
