The Famous P1457 leads to P1456
Ok, so I have a 2001 Honda Accord, 4 cy, manual.
I had the CEL light come on a couple months ago, but don't drive the car that much (less than 5k a year.) I got 2 of the canisters (canister purge valve and Evap canuister bypass valve) and had a local shop replace them. The code came back on within twenty minutes , so I looked at it myself to replace the canister purge solenoid myself and saw that the hoses were not reconnected . (I'll deal with the garage later.) So I hooked up the hoses best I could remember and it drove alright for about 3 hours and the CEL came back on. Now it's hitting a P1456 code. I also just replaced my gas cap. I realize a leak in the hoses would trigger this but should I have epoxy-ed the hoses back on? Any thoughts would be helpful. I'd really not like to take this to a shop for a smoke test but I'm getting to the end of my rope. Thanks.
I'm also looking for a picture of the assembly for the EVAP system so I can see if the hoses are in the correct places. (F*in lazy mechanics)
Thanks.
