Which fan is Which?
I was working on my new stereo system today.
I had been idling for a while when I noticed the car getting hot.
This car has never ran hot before.
Anyway I popped the hood when the temp was real hot almost to the red.
Anyway only 1 fan was spinning. Sitting in the drivers seat it was the fan on the left.
I think this is the A/C fan as I did have the A/C on.
However the other fan never came on.
What should I test to find out the problem?
I was going to put my 12 volt test light into the power wire going to the fan that was not on but the wires seemed real hard to get to. They cam out the very bottom of the motor housing. Is there an easier place to tap that wire so I can see if power is getting to the fan or not when the car is hot?
Thank you for your help.

Not sure if this is a 4 or 6 cyl......so I can't say which it is.
Don't wait for the car to get hot, get to the connector, put 12v to the wires into the motor, does it spin?
ok, on a 4 cyl, the left/drivers side is the condensor fan motor......on a 6 cyl (turned the other way) it would be the rad fan motor......last, always refer to the position of the car as you are sitting in it...Left Hand Drive?????

Sorry forgot to mention car
97 4 cyl
I live in good old TN, USA
As for getting to the connector. Where is a good place to get to it at?
Where it connects to the fan motor I could only access it from under the car.
Is there somewhere else easier to get to it at?
It prob has not been working since I got the car. Being that the nearest traffic light is over 20 miles from my house - there is no traffic to sit in.
But I do drive the car into the city every now and then so this is something I need to get fixed.

So I read this again and confused myself. The right/pass side fan is not running?
If so, using the 95 and just did a test run for you, you can get the connector loose from the top. Push the tab "in" and wiggle the wire...90% sure it is the motor but there are fuses and relays.
Hey, I lived in TN, west part, from the early 70's until about 95.

I found and fixed the problem yesterday
A few months ago a friend fixed a leaking trans cooler hose for me.
Well he forgot to plug in the fan connector.
I plugged it in and it works fine now.
Thanks for the help
