Front Right Wheel Hum
Hello All,
As you can see I'm the newest n00b to the HAF so here goes my question:
I recently replaced both front rotors and brake pads. I had a humming noise coming from the front right tire area and I suspected it was a warped rotor. Well, long in a short, after the replacement the shaking when slowing went away but the "Humming" is still there and now it's loud, real loud. It only increases as my speed does. Am I safe to assume that this could be the bearings? If so, is that all that would need to be replaced or would the whole hub and bearings need to be replaced? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
BTW, I did a search and nothing really came up regarding this exact issue.
TIA!

could be a bad tire as well........
raise the car up, start it and have someone put in gear and accell while you listen to the noise by the wheel,, if humming is still there most likely a bad wheel bearing.....Also make sure that it is not coming from engine compartment..
Alternator,, belt tensioner , etc etc

I should've mentioned I also have brand new tires on and there were no obvious warping/rubbing marks on the old one. I'm going to go ahead and just replace the bearings and see what happens. Thanks for the input, I just needed some more input before I started ripping it apart. Keep you guys posted and thanks again.

Humming sound doesn't make me think of brakes. Shuddering when I'm applying brakes would be bad rotors, but humming sounds like wheel bearings or tire noise.
Another way to rule out engine stuff (like alternator belts) is shift to neutral, coast, & let engine drop to idle RPM. What does the sound do then?
