front suspension clunking
#11
that video called it a strut rod bushing. The acura's suspension in that vid looks exactly like the accords suspension.
If those bushings were bad, does that mean i'd have to replace the entire front cross member shown in the vid?

Just replace the strut rod bushings. You do not need to replace the cross member. Very easy. Unbolt the front bolts first where it goes into the front beam of the sub frame. Then unbolt it from the lower control arm. Replace bushings, reinstallation is reverse order.

As Tek said, if there is wear there, replace the radius rod bushings (pretty sure that is what Honda calls them). Please note that these can impact alignment (caster), some will say no, others will agree...after replacement (if bad) have the align checked just t be sure.

Actually this is how caster is adjusted. Shims are added on the inside part of the rod to adjust the caster 1/4" per shim.
New bushings will effect your caster. Pushing your control arms back giving you more negative caster

The clunking sound is happening to me too since my #27 flew off (posted on another thread). If #14 is not seated on the subframe, the sound comes from the front threads of #6 rubbing through the subframe or #14 end sliding off the subframe
Thanks!
