Good Idea??
Since iridium plugs are now the norm and they are good for (possibly) 100k+ I thought about this.....
Considering how tight/frozen the plugs could be at that time, is it a good idea to remove the plugs from the aluminum head every 30K or so and use anti seize to put them back in? I'm talking about using the same plugs providing they are still good. At 100K or more I'm afraid the steel spark plug vs the aluminum head may damage the threads in the head when they are removed.
Any horse sense to this? Needed? Not needed? Stump dumb?Smart Move? At the rate I put miles on the car it could be 10 years before a plug change is required and I'm leary of the plugs "welding" themselves to the head.

RE: Good Idea??
Just to play devil's advocate...
Don't overdo the anti-sieze. I've heard from people on another board who have had Blackstone oil analysis come back with contamination from the anti-sieze compound. Some of these guys are also active on bobistheoilguy so they're kinda 'enthusiastic' about their oil analysis results.
I use Permatex silver whenever I put plugs in, but I've started to be careful about using too much.

Great post.... I guess I never thought about it since I've always tried to change my plugs at regular intervals even if they don't seem to need it... But I don't think I've ever paid more than $4 or $5 per plug either so I figured what the heck....

DH thank you for responding I respect your opinion as well as Honda Dude and all the others. Soon I'll pull those little dudes out and give them a small shot of anti seize. Then I'll put them back where they live. Thank you all for responding. Hopefully thiswill help someone else in the future.
