is it a good idea to upgrade my rear drum brakes to disk brakes?

disk brakes are better than drum, and yeah its a good idea but the only problem is finding the right parts to fit. i always thought 92 prelude parts would but i havent had any conformation on it. let me know if you find anything out.

I've been considering this for a while too. I think my money would be better spent at first upgrading the front brakes to bigger ones (cross-drills) since they do the bulk of the braking. Then I would probably go for a rear disc conversion.
It's on my mind since my brakes are beggining to get old.

Here's an interesting theory on drum vw. Disc. If you can lock up your rear tires with your current drum brakes then under NORMAL driving conditions you're not going to gain much of anything by going to disc (aside from astetic looks and ease of changing the pads etc...) unde RACING conditions disc brakes work better because they expell gasses and heat more quickly/easily, so if you've got a daily driver then in my opinion disc brakes aren't going to give you a whole lot of advantage

Dude.... Poser paint em... paint them silver (on the front) then the outside of it (around the ring) paint it flat black so it blends, then paint a triangular patch that resembles a brake caliper over the black section and on the face of the silver so from a short distance it will look like disc brakes.... That would be so sweet to see.... seriously I think that would be great and may not look bad from a distance... it's just spray paint and if you don't like it paint the whole thing flat black....
