Default handbrake

i changed the rear disks the pads and adjusted the handbrake to 4 clicks onmy 2.0 lsi but it wont hold on a hill.the brake is working but not well enough

If you twisted the rear caliper pistonsALL the way in, it may take awhile for the auto-adjusters to catch up. I normally twist them in just far enough to get the new pads in. Then operate the brakes many MANY times to get the auto-adjusters all settled. Then you may need to re-adjust the cable.

i just replaced my shoes, haynes manual says to do forward/REVERSE braking until u have satisfactory brake action. i had the adjusters all the way in when i put it back together, went forward / backward about a dozen times in front of my house brakin @ 15mph before the handbrake would engage.
