Ok, so I just tried to start my car and on the first try it turned over some but didn't crank. All other tries just made a click noise with an occasional half turn. I guess the parking break being on was just a temporary fix. This really seems like my starter was slowly going out, but I called a Honda dealership and their mechanics said that they have never had to change out a starter before in any Honda. It also turns out that the 4-cylinder version's starter is conveniently located underneath the intake manifold (????) If there is anyone who has experience working with Hondas, especially their v-tec engines, and could diagnose this/replace the starter on the side, please reply. I don't want to bring it to the dealership unless I have to. I live about 20 minutes south of Birmingham (Alabama) in Northern Shelby County (Indian Springs area). Thanks

Honda mechanics lied if they said starters on 2003-2007 Accords never fail. Accords are good, but not that good.

Try rapid on/off/on/off to see if starter will engage and turn the engine. This sometimes works w/ worn solenoid contacts.

Permanent fix is new or rebuilt starter.

good luck

Hey, thought I'd explain the real problem to all this mess. It turned out to be the starter slowly but surly going out. I got it replaced and it starts fine now. Thanks for all the responses.
