hard start when cold and damp

Why "believe" you have spark? TEST it then you'll KNOW.

Yep, tested and there is spark, and fuel too. I just pulled a plug and sat it on top of the valve cover and cranked it over. The spark ignited the fuel vapor being pushed out the plug hole. I've had the car taken to my cousin who is good mechanic, i suspect the head gasket is bad. It may be an unrelated problem i discovered but i noticed pressure would build in radiator when i crank the engine

Pressure buildup in radiator during cranking sounds like a headgasket. Maybe antifreeze on the spark plugs contributes to hard starting?

Try a compression test?
