Default Haunted power locks?

I have a '94 Honda Accord with 252K. When I lock the doors, the lock motor repeatedly 're-locks' the doors for about 10 minutes or so afterward. It stops sometime thereafter. It has never run down the battery or had any negative effects other than sounding a bit odd and getting strange looks as I walk away. The previous owner stated it had done this on and off since about 50K. It does it basically every time I lock the doors now. Any idea what is causing this? Is there a cheap or easy fix, or should I just deal with it?

Thanks

Not sure exactly with is going on but my wife's 01 jetta does the same thing. The dealership told her that it is the door lock solenoids. Not sure if this is it but it might catch the eye of someone who knows exactly.

sounds like you got a bad door lock actuator

Is there an actuator in each door? The sound is coming from each door. It happens whenever I lock the door (from the inside, from the outside with a key, either door, etc). How hard is it to change an actuator?

I think there is an acuator in each door. I had the same problem with my 95 with the driver's side.

It isn't hard to replace, but there is not much space. (Imagine that)

You will have to determine which actuator is bad.

To determine which actuator is bad, you can unplug the 6-pin connector on the driver's side door. You will have to remove door panel to do this.

Hit the power lock on the passenger door (I don't think that the power lock on the driver's side door will work, but you can try that too). If the locks fails again, then repeat until you isolate the bad actuator.
