Default headlight replacement

I am trying to replace my low beam headlight bulbs. The last time I had one replaced they removed the headlight to do it. Seems simple enough. I should be able to do that. Apparently not. I can only find one bolt holding the headlight in place. When I remove that, I get some movement in the headlight but can't remove it. There has to be something I'm missing. Any ideas?

No bolts. Turn the headlight bulb counter-clockwise about a third of a turn and it should pull right out. No need to remove the fixture either.

That's what I would have thought was the procedure. But, on the 2002 there seems to be 3 screw like heads on each of the 4 bulb housings. I had tried to turn it out but no go. That's why I took it to the repair shop. They actually removed the headlight housing.

But just in case I missed it, I'll try turning it again.

Thanks for the prompt response.

The screws that you are talking about are what the bulb hooks onto. They don't need to come out. Try pushing the bulb toware the housing while turning, they can be very tight. Be careful not to break the plug on the bulb ..... I've done that once and it makes it hard to get out.

Maybe that's why the shop pulled the headlight. Theyprobably broke the plug on the bulb. I'll try turning it tonight and see how it goes.

Thanks

this kind of screwdriver works well to loosen the bolts if neecessary.

It's called a Z-driver

I stood looking at this headlight for a bit last night. Originally, I couldn't remove the plug so, since I was already at a repair shop I had them change it. They removed the headlight to do it. Therefore, when the other bulb blew, I thought the headlight had to come out.

I grabbed hold of the bulb, gave it a twist and out it came.

I upgraded both low beams to the a brighter bulb, the Sylvania Silver Star. Now all is good.

Thanks for your help.

Although I didn't see your post until this morning, I would like to thank you for the link. In the end I had done exactly as the link had described.

Thanks
