Default Help! 95 Accord Ex Speedometer

My Speedometer sometimes won't work.. Most of the time it stays at 0. any idea what could be wrong.

A second one: My car is Auto Trans. and when I put it in D4 the light (near the speedometer) around it starts blinking. Help??

These could be related.

Suggest getting the codes and lets see what we have from there. Your 95 is OBD-I so all you need to get the codes is a jumper wire/paperclip.

See this for help on how to get them: https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/for...threads-40780/

Once you have the codes let us know what they are and which system (CEL or D4) they came from.

Not really sure what you meant by getting the codes with a jumper wire and paper clip. Where would the codes show. Sorry, I'm new to the Honda brand... Oh, the problem I described on my post. Will it have any affect of me driving the vehicle?

Thanks!

I looked iN THE DIY sextion, found the thread and was lost when reading what to do.

Once you find the proper connector (explained in that DIY thread about reading codes), you jumper the 2 wires together with a paperclip or some other kind of jumper wire.

With the jumper in place, turn the key ON. The check-engine light will flash the error codes for the engine. The D4 lamp will flash error codes for the auto-transmission.

Thanks for the feedback! I had the car scanned and the mechanic told me it's the shift sylenoid...and that he recommends the transmission to be overhauled

Do not overhaul the transmission. Is this 4 or 6 cylinders?

Locate the blue service check connector and use a small paper clip or wire to jump it. See this:

Blue service connector

Then get the transmission trouble codes and post them, then we will try to help with the codes.

If that code was from the Check Engine Light, it would be code 17 - Vehicle Speed Sensor. Refer to this link for more info.
