HELP A/C Control Does not work, changed fuses already
I have a 2000 honda accord EX. Just recently the Air Control/ AC control buttons on the dash would light on then off on and off as i was driving. My ac would go on and off on and off. The fan would still be running when it goes off. Anyways, now the button doesnt work anymore, u know the buttons that turns your defrost on/off a/c on/off air flow to your feet/body/ etc etc. Note that the 2 ***** work fine the ones that control the Fan speed 1/2/3/4, and the temperature ****. Ive tried changing the fuse for AC control and nothing. I took the whole dash out and looked at the wires, nothing appears to be grounding out or shorting. Any ideas? please help!!

Hate to state the obvious, but it sounds like the mode control buttons are losing power or ground somehow.
I don't own a 6th gen. Is the A/C on/off button one of the buttons part of the mode control buttons? A better way to ask is, are all the switches that are having problems going through the same connector on the wire harness? Are other switches using different connectors working properly?
You might want to try putting dielectric grease on the faulty connector to ensure that you have a secure connection at the plug. There are continuity tests that you can do on the mode switch to see if it is working properly. You are going to have to get at the minimum a Haynes manual and a volt meter to run through the tests.

i think i remember reading a service bulletin about the A/C wires rubbing against each other constantly and eventually rubbing the insulation away and shorting them out. Check that, and if the car is still under the warranty take it into the dealer and make them fix it for free.
