help! jammed ignition switch!
All apologies if this info is already up. I was searching the forums but didn't turn anything up. I have a 91 se. went to start it and the ignition switch would not budge. not one bit. no matter what swear words i used, it would not move a millimeter. nor any amount of stratiegic wiggling while turning. I do not suspect the problem of being any deeper that the switch. I am not the most handiest but i feel i may be up for it. is this a hard part to switch out? will i need to have two keys then? (the other for the doors/trunk/glovebox)
is there access anywhere to step by step procedure? is it more like an afternoon job, or a whole weekend full of dirty looks from the mrs.?
thank you for your time

Are you sure the steering wheel isn't locked? Move the steering wheel left and right while trying to turn it to unlock it.
It's probably not the switch itself, but the key cylinder, which can be a tricky, but doable job.

yah, im a big dumb hillbilly idiot. Ive only had the car for two weeks one of which it sat while i figured out why it didnt run and then replaced the coil. im still getting used to the anti theft thing. I stomped the brake while cranking hard on the wheel and discovered there was nothing wrong, and i was having a temper tantrum for no reason. duuuhhh.
