Help! my A/c is all messed up
I need some advice...my a/c when turned on only blows hot air. Not like heater hot air but like hot air from the engine area...not cold at all...I know I need refrigerant but also see that the compressor is not switching on even when hooked up to an a/c machine. I checked my neg cable comming from my battery but its grounded to the inside edge of my hood area...is this right? seems like it would need a more solid part to ground to, and could this be causing my problem? There is no voltage going to the compressor. please help its hot out here and no a/c sucks!!!

I assume this is a 2003 Accord LX based on your username?
When you turn the A/C on, if the fans under the hood are running, and the inside blower motor is running; but, the compressor clutch is not turning, then you may have a faulty field coil. Your symptoms sounds like the field coil.
Here's some info. to give some idea about the field coil (stator set). The link is for an Acura TL; however, it is somewhat similar. The attached image should be the part for your car.

This other link is for self-diagnostic of the A/C; however, keep in mind sometimes the code does not necessarily pinpoint the problem. Your symptoms sound a lot like a faulty field coil.
