Default HELP PLEASE: Front Balancer Shaft Seal (PICS)

The seal is in evenly (even if it doesnt look like it based on pics). I couldnt get it in anymore, do you guys think it will be ok? The space is so small to work the best I could do is use the closed end of a big wrench and just push on it as hard as I could.

Wild ideas on a Sunday.....cool.

I'm sure you will get a boat load.

Mine, since it is already almost there. Pull the gear back off and the retainer. If you can't tap it with like a 1/4 extension. Try getting a piece of pvc pipe, take the old seal to the hardware store and cut the height to fit in there....push. Last, for me anyway, you'll need another pair of hands....cut the height again so that the pipe can fit between the gear and the seal, line the pipe up and use two flat head screw drivers to gently pry between the gear and the pipe....thus pushing the seal.

Good luck and let us know what worked for you

Me, on the 95, I put the seal in the freezer for a while, lubed it, pushed and was home free.....

I used a wrench, old ring as cushion and banged on it with an extention, seemed to go in alittle bit.

In order to do the crankshaft seal I took off the crankshaft pulley and the key, now I cant get off the inner gear where the timing belt rides on (timing belt drive pulley). Any suggestions?

Thanks

Thanks man. I got it done yesterday. I ended up buying ericthecarguys timing belt video. Worth $10 since it gave me the confidence that I was doing everything right.

Definitely make sure you get it all the way in, it blew out of my son's '97 Accord last month, rendering the car un-driveable due to how badly it was leaking. He bought the car used so we don't know if it had ever been changed or was improperly installed. Either way, you want it in right.
