Default HELP!!! Problem with the Emissions and engine control system.

Hi

I don’t know a lot about cars but am interested in learning about them.

Today when driving my car the following problem occurred:

The drive four light begun to flash and then the Speedo and the trip computer stopped working but then sometimes again started working. As I was on the highway I couldn’t pull over but as a kept on driving the engines emission and engine control light came on. The car drives like normal most of the time but then sometimes it feels like the car is going back and forward as if it is having problems using the fuel.

It’s a Honda Accord 1994 VTI auto.

Does anybody know what might be causing this and how much it would cost to fix (AUS or US dollars)?

unfortunately you havent given us much to work with but it does sound like a VSS vehicle speed sensor is going out. prolly about 400 to get it fixed but im not sure. it will need to be diagnosed properly

As lightshow suggeseted it sounds like a VSS. ,, pull the codes and post them here,, if engine code is 17 it is the VSS, part is around $ 150. labor no more than 80 dollars
