help resyncing my fob to my car 2018 lx

I have a 2018 Honda Accord LX. I got a warning a few days ago to say that the battery in my keyless remote fob was low so I put a new battery in it, but now my car and fob are no longer synced. How do I sync them back up?

Try to lock and unlock the doors with the remote by pressing the lock or unlock button at least 10 times.

It may take several tries to reset.

Hey. I tried it twice outside the car and 3 times while I was inside the car. Does the car need to be on? If so, I tried that too. Wow, this is frustrating. Thanks for the suggestion!

Ellen

No, the car does not need to be on.

Keep trying. Sometimes it takes many tries.

I usually do this while I am outside the car.

I will try it now. Thanks!

If all else fails, then check if the back-up fuse (No. 27 (10A)) in the under-hood fuse box is blown.

But, if there were no other issues that preceded this transmitter issue , then that fuse is likely to be okay.

I checked the 27 fuse last night but not the 24. I will check it. 27 was still good. I will keep trying on the lock/unlock...after I check the fuse. Thanks! Ellen

No. 27 is not related. It was just part of the image.

This is just to show you the instructions so you don't lose hope. Also check the polarity of the battery in the transmitter. Positive (+) should be top side.

I did steps 1 and 2 last night before I checked the 27 fuse...I feel sure the battery is working in the fob and there is no water damage or damage to the connectors. I will keep trying the lock/unlock thing. I bought my Honda used with a 100000 mile certified pre owned warranty. Do you know if a problem like this is covered under that warranty? I know this is an off topic question, but I need to be able to lock my car pretty bad.

1. Do you have another remote? If you do, try with the other remote, as that may reset everything.

2. Locking of the doors with the remote can still be done manually, either with the key or the interior lock tabs. Refer to pages 175 and 176 of the owner's manual.

3. If you have a warranty, you can always ask them. You won't know if you don't ask. Sometimes even if it wasn't part of a warranty, some people will do goodwill.
