Exclamation HELPPPP Shifter trouble

Hey guys, new to the site but love the idea! I have a 2007 Accord 2.4L standard trans and I have a problem with my gear shifter. Living in Newfoundland, Canada we're getting extremely cold temperatures down to -20 degrees. My shifter is ceasing up big time. It goes into 3rd and 4th no problem but left to right is impossible. I have to let my car warm up almost 45 mins before i can break it free and work it back and forth. I've tried rust check lub under the boot into the lines but it only seems to make it worse. Easy fix? I got extended warranty when I bought it used certified 3 years ago think it'd be covered? Someone please help! Thanks!

I've moved this to General Tech where you should get better help/answers.

I would lean towards taking the vehicle in for service. You can call ahead and ask them what if your warranty would cover the possible fixes to the shifting problem.

Thanks for the response guys. Being a student and having zero funds this will probably cost me a fortune if its not covered under warranty. I was hoping for a quick fix. I guess i should have went in for mechanics rather then body work. haha Thanks again!

Can you remove the air cleaner & duct & get a good look at how the cables attach to their respective levers on top of the transmission? Anything getting clogged up with ice or snow?
