Hissing Noise From Air Vents
Hi,
I have a 2001 Accord Coupe 2L / 4 cylinder.
My problem is this...when I have the a/c on, i am getting a slight hissing sound coming through the air vents, as soon as the a/c cuts in.
Also, when I switch the engine off, the hissing sound comes on again, for about 10 seconds. It sounds a little bit like a boiling kettle.
I've also notice that when the a/c or climate control is on, the RPM fluctuates between 800 and 1500 ( I think, as the a/c cuts in and out).
I was wondering if it needs re-charging.
Any advice would be appreciated !

RE: Hissing Noise From Air Vents
i ave seen a few times where you have to evac and recharge the a/c system...........also make sure that the vents are fully open ,, if they are slightly open ( almost closed ) the air flow will make a hissing noise

You failed to mention the system was not cooling. If it was cooling it was not totally empty. If no leak was repaired, you will soon have the same problem again.
good luck
