Default Homelink

I am interested in adding homelink to my 2014 Honda accord EX L 4 cylinder.
Which is the hot post and ground post on the homelink module plug? What is the best way to locate a hot and ground wire in the over head area where the homelink module fits. I assume that there is no wiring harness in the overhead area for the homelink. Any help will be appreciated.

If you don't find the Homelink 5P female connector in the overhead console, then it doesn't have the Homelink harness plug.

You can try at your own risk to hardwire/splice in the Honda Homelink part to the wiring up there if there isn't the 5P connector. The moonroof power wire is a White wire and ground is a Black wire.

As a simple alternative, College Hills Honda sells the Homelink unit wired to a small battery. Just have to replace the battery if it runs low.

I have a homelink module. Which post on the module is the positive and which is the negative. Holding the module with the label on the bottom in readable position I think the top post is positive and the # 4 post is negative. I am not sure. I am also looking for a female 5p plug that will fit the homelink module. The parts manager at Honda parts said it was only available as part of the wiring harness. Any help would be appreciated.

The Homelink 5P harness connector is part of the roof wire harness.

Disclaimer: As previously stated, try at your own risk.

It looks like the pins for the Homelink 5P connector would be:

1. White wire (Fuse A21 – Underhood) power (+) for Homelink
2. Gry wire (Fuse B25 – Underdash) power (+) for LED Illumination
3. -Not used-
4. Black wire (G501) ground (-) for Homelink
5. Orn wire ground for (-) LED illumination

Alternative: Get the College Hill Honda wired unit to battery. No LED illumination though.

You could always solder wires directly to the HomeLink unit's printed circuit board (pcb) instead of buying a whole roof harness with the 5P connector.

The numbering of the pins is from the terminal view side for the 5P connector. So, consider that when splicing wires for power and ground. For the Homelink to work, it does not need the hook up of the wires for the LED illumination.

The 12P connector for the moonroof switch has the necessary power and ground wires to splice into for the Homelink and LED illumination.

Note: If you spliced into those wire, Honda may not provide any warranty coverage related to moonroof or other related electrical problems.

If you really have to have the 5P connector, you could try a junk/salvage yard. Although the wires are switched at different pins on the previous generation Accord Homelink 5P connector, the 5P connector's dimension, etc. may be the same as for the 2013-2014 Accord Homelink unit.
