Default Homelink cant be programmed.

2010 Honda Accord with the Homelink System. I just traded in a 2013 Honda pilot which programmed fine but the Accord will not. In fact, this is the second Accord I have had which didn't seem to send anything to the accessmaster. The accessmaster never acknowledges that it gets a code BUT the code in the accessmaster must change because I have to reprogram the handheld remote after attempts are made to program the Honda Homelink. I've tried using the remote control method and the button on the Accessmaster. Anyone know what I can do to make it work?? Once again, I've done this without issue with the remote and with another car.

Thanks in advance

1. Hold down the garage remote button AND the HomeLink button in the car AT THE SAME TIME until the HomeLink indicator (LED) starts blinking at a faster rate. (They should held at least 1 - 3 inch next to each other.)

2. Press the "Learn" button on the garage door opener (e.g. Access Master).

3. Within 30 seconds of pressing the "Learn" button on the garage door opener, press and hold the programmed HomeLink button until it starts blinking rapidly (about 2 seconds).

4. Pressing the HomeLink button again should operate the garage door opener.

To erase stored codes in all the HomeLink buttons, press and hold the two outer buttons until the HomeLink indicator (LED) begins to flash rapidly (about 10 - 20 seconds).

Ok, thanks I'll try it. That's instruction I've never seen or had to use before. I'll let you know.

Redbull, it WORKED!
The HONDA instructions gave me one way or the other but I found no mention of combining the two sets of instructions. IT WORKED though!
Thanks again.

Glad it worked out and thanks for reporting back.

I just condensed the instructions to make it easier to follow. They are part of the later instructions for 8th gen Accords; however, they show the instructions as a flowchart type, which includes some sub-part information that could have been excluded or included separately.
