Default Honda accord 1990 accelerate slowly in going up hill.

Good to you all in the forum. My 1990 honda accord accelerate slowly when when going up hill. I did some work in the leaking oil part underneath the car. When driving at high speed I do smell some burning substances inside the vehicle. The car has been parked for three years now it was just two months ago I started doing the repairs. I have been driving it now for two weeks now. The problem now is slow acceleration when going up hill and the burning smell entering the vehicle inside. Honda accord 1990, 4 cylinder, 2.0l, auto transmission, mileage 250,000.
Sir any useful suggestion that will be of help. Hoping to hear from you soon.
Thanks.

Have you checked the spark plugs. Is not having power happening any other time.

I will cross check the spark plugs and observed if it is still OK. The burning smell I perceived occurs 15 to 20mins of driving the car and gradually the smell goes away. Can we be looking at progressive damage to the catalytic converter or some sorts of exhaust tube leaks along the line. What I think is that when the catalytic converter gets red-hot when the car is in motion due to aging it can produce some kind of burning smell. Sir, can any misfire causes the car to move slowly on going up hill and produce some damages to the catalytic converter and generate burning smell.
Thanks

Misfires can definitely cause loss of power. Misfires can also cause you to have a bad cat if the misfires are driven on too long.

Is you CEL on if so what codes do you have

Along with checking plugs ,plug wires, chk timing, fuel pressure ,since car was sitting for so long chk the fuel , pour some fuel in a can and chk if it looks and smells normal ,
also does the engine revs up without hesitation over at least 3000 rpm in park? A plugged convertor will cause lack of power and rotten smell ,,

if all possible you should hook up a fuel pressure gauge and drive car while monitoring pressure , chk pressure when car lacks power .normal pressure should be around 40-50 psi ,,
