Honda Accord 1995 Starter Contact points
Hello,
Last week my car broke down. I figured out its the problem with the starter. After browsing the web for couple of hours I came to know its the starterr, precisely the contact points in the starter. But Honda is not selling any contact points. Toyota is selling the contact points (28226-74070 and 28226-64370) which can fit to Honda starters.
My question is, can I use these contact points for my 1995 Honda Accord V6 Car. If these contact points doesn't fit, can you suggest the contact points that can fit my car.
Any amount of help is appreciated.
PS: I am a student and I never deal with cars . I deal with only computers. Midas asked $500 for the starter. So I decided to do on my own as I don't have that much amount of money. I can't help you back with car problems. If you want I can help you in computers.
Thanks in advance.

If you are willing to pull the starter yourself, why not just replace it with one already rebuilt? I'm then going to assume the contacts are in the soleniod, try looking for one of those and then compare the cost to the rebuilt starter. I don't think you'll find a shop willing to pull the starter and replace just he contacts....the labor cost for that is too much.

This is a different starter than what I think. It doesn't allow me to change the contact points. There is a steel casing around it which prevents me to put new contact points.
Bottom line: If the starter gone bad for "1995 Honda Accord V6 Auto Trans", dont try to change the contact points; change the starter.
I am going to buy a new starter tomorrow. As I have only two options Autozone (Duralast) or Advanceautoparts (Worldwide), what do you suggest?
Thanks for all your suggestions.

I got worldwide starter from advance auto parts. I fixed it. Now my car is starting fine except there is a sound when it starting which we usually hear after turning the key again when the car is already.
Thanks all for your advice.
