Honda Anti-freeze?
I have an 06 Accord V-6 3 yrs. old with 32K, I need to change anti-freeze. The owners manual calls for Honda brand only! Do I really need to use Honda only fluids? I don't want to damage the cooling system, but I hate to use Honda name brand only.

RE: Honda Anti-freeze?
I promise you the new Honda blue anti freeze is great stuff.

However if you are a cheap charlie, you can use generic green from the parts store.

RE: Honda Anti-freeze?
Thanks for the reply, I definitely am not a cheap charlie. I just did not want to be forced to buy everything from the dealer. If I follow the owner's manual I will buy all fluids from them & let them do all my maintenance for major $$. I know I can do better then that. It sounds like the Honda blue is a better quality & it is only about $3 more then the green stuff. One note I might pass along is I have a Honda GoldWing & u cannot use any anti-freeze that has silicates in it (most of them do) it will eat the O-rings out of the water pump. That was my major concern with the Accord, if the Honda cars are like their motorcycles.
