Default Honda ATF color?

My 2007 Honda Accord LX V6 Coupe with 5AT has about 6,500 miles. The automatic transmission fluid is original and unchanged.
The car does stop-and-go traffic for about 4 hours a day (no joke - I commute in horrendous Los Angeles traffic).

The transmission shifts rougher than I'm used to, but that's always been the case since I bought it brand new. Also, it does quite a bit of gear hunting on the highway (but this also occured from when it was brand new).

Yesterday I took the dipstick out of the AT to check the level and color. The level is good, but the color is a light green/light brown color. There was no burnt smell that I noticed.

I thought the AT fluid is supposed to be cherry red?

Does anyone know what the original AT fluid on the 07 V6 is supposed to be?

(I hope my AT isn't burning up)

Thanks!

When I fill my transmission with Genuine Honda ATF. It's red. If an 07 car, take it to the dealer and have them check it out.

more of a pink than a cherry red ..... at least on the dipstick ..... in the funnel it looks more red. Isn't there a special break in fluid or is that just the oil???

That's what I was wondering as well... I'm not familiar with the 07's but it wouldn't suprise me if honda has a different fluid in there for the "intial break-in period".... Did you call the selling dealer and ask?

The Honda ATF I used to get for my '98 was red/pink, but hard to see on the dipstick. Wipe it on a white rag to see the pink color.

OTOH, I think I've heard people talk about a new formulation... These days all I own are manual trannys.
