Honda Won't Exceed 2000 RPM / Check Engine Light
Hey guys,
Just had a problem with my 2002 Accord tonight, and I thought you guys might have some insight on what it could be.
I started the car after driving a bit I noticed it had trouble going past 2000 RPM.. almost as if it was having trouble shifting gears. I pressed the gas a little harder and it went past 2000 and the check engine light popped on and the car started shaking.
I pulled over and idled for a bit as the car conitinued shaking… I then turned it off, waited a minute and turned it back on.
For some reason, it then ran fine and I drove it where I was going (about 15KM away) with no problems.
Should I bring it to a mechanic? Is this a transmission problem? How much do repairs like this cost? Unfortunately I'm about 217KM from my usual mechanic (at the cottage). So I'm wondering if I should just find someone local.. or forget about it as it runs fine now.
Thanks a lot for the help.. first time poster.
Cheers,
Adam

As "kegobeer" (other site, HT) said. Get the codes. Post them up then someone might be able to help.
The code is stored, I'd rather know what it is/was than ignore it...it could be a sign of something bigger. Want to be left on the side of the road because you blew this off....just my opinion.
