Default Hooking up my diag. Tachometer on my 88 Accord

How does one hook up a diagnostic tachometer to the coil on the 88 accords? The way the wires connect to the coil prevents me clipping the alligator clip to the lead. Is there some sort of adaptor that I need, or is there somewhere else I can connect the leads to?

Not familiar w/ your arrangement. Following is what I have done to make a connection w/o severely damaging wire.

Get the folding wire splice connectors from auto parts store and splice a wire into the circuit using one of these wire splices. You puncture the insulation at only one small point. You can wrap this w/ tape afterward or leave as-is.

Trying to back probe a connector or thread a wire into a connector is frustrating and never works well.

good luck
