Default Horn problems with '98 accord

Hi folks. I'm posting this for a friend who has no network access... he recently acquired a '98 Accord in mint condition from his son. One problem, the horn works while the engine is OFF (key out of ignition, etc.). Once the key is in AND the electrical is engaged (one click BEFORE turning on started) it dies, once the engine is started the horn is also DEAD. Kill the engine, NY horn still dead... remove the key, HORN IS OK!

Anybody else experienced this problem??? We spent this afternoon looking at it and weren't able to find anything... this fellow live in NYC so the horn is essential

If you can help, please email me at spanishpete@hotmail.com or I'll be checking this group again tomorrow (Tues). I'm visiting from out of town and will be leaving early Wed. Thanks in advance.

Not a clue, man that's extremely weird, but an obvious electrical problem.

I'd take that one to the stealership.

Possibly a immobilizer problem.....

(felt like going to the very first tech posting on records to bring it to the top....)
