horrible problem

Default horrible problem

I have a 1994 Honda Accord Ex it is throwing a crankshaft position sensor code but from what i understand it is in the distributor so i replaced the distributor and it is still throwing the same code but the car also wont rev above 3500 rpms and i just can't figure out why and i dont know how to fix it does anyone no what the problem could be

Did yourule outwiring problems (loose/dirty/corroded plugs) first?

yea i have ruled out wiring problems i honestly think but i dont know maybe computer problem or it jumped time

Yeah, check cam timing - thats not too hard to rule it out.

ECU is generally pretty robust so I tend to think of other stuff first.

Is the check engine light flashing? Limp-home mode >3500 rpm limit

have you checked the obvious? the crank position sensor? If it's unplugged the engine will not start. it may be damaged or have excessive debris on/arounf it

yes i checked the sensor and it is plugged in and when it is started the check engine light doesn't blink

There are several crankshaft position sensor errors. What specific error code do you get from the ECU.

1994 is OBD-1 so I think theres only one CKP code (4).
