How can I get the most MPG from a 98 Accord 2.3 V-TEC?
HiYa, all.. I have a stock 98 Accord 4 dr.2.3 V-TEC automaticw/100K. I am currently getting 26 MPG/HWY with a new air filter, plugs,& wires. I "heard" this car can achieve 30/MPG. Any helpful hints or documentaries? Thanks!

Drive smooth & steady. Turn off the testosterone & relax. Anticipate red lights & coast for the last 80 yards.
Unfortunately, traffic and terrain can make more difference than anything else, and you can't do anything aboutthat.
I've got the same car & I've gotten 30 occasionally when I can drive 60mph on empty roads for 400 miles without stopping. But the rest of the world doesn't allow me to do that very often.
In the real world, 26 isabout thesame aswhat I can get.

I have a 99 LX 2.3. Just checked my milage Friday, got 30.50 mpg. That is the best for some time now. I keep it tuned good and drive easy. 26 sounds normal for city and hwy combined.

ok
to get better gas milage
1. keep rpms under 3K on acelleration
2. ON THE HIGHWAY use your A/C when you are traveling at speed...far less drag on the car @60mph versus having the windows down
3. Do not carry any extra weight in your car such as heavy tools books, etc
4. Keep your car in proper running order
and BTW winter blend fuel results in less MPG versus the summer blend. my car fuel economy went from 22/23mpg to 23/34mpg when they switched over
