Default How to check CEL codes?

Im actually looking this up for a friend, she has a 2002 Accord (EX I think). I know on my car, I can do the on-off-on-off-on to pull the ODB codes from the dash. Can I do something similar on her car?

Thanks

NO.

For 1997 & earlier, there's a wiring plug you can jumper with a paperclip but beginning in 1998 the easy way is to have AutoZone or someplace like that plug in a code-reader. Most of those places do that for free.

Get the actual code number (P-nnnn) because sometimes the guy's explanation can be pretty creative.

If they won't clear it, then go to the right-dashboard fusebox (at the passenger door hinges) & pull fuse #13. (That works for 1998-2002).
