Default How to diagnose AC problem on 95 acord

Hello,

I have a 95 accord wagon and the AC is not working. The fan blows but it does not get cold. I haven't run it much in the last couple years but I want to sell the car and would like to get this working for the next person.

I tried putting refrigerant in but it looked like it went right out. If you are looking at the car facing the engine. It was coming out the left hand side at the back right in front of the firewall.

Is there an AC hose there?
Should I get dye (do they even sell dye a regular person can buy and use)?
Any other thoughts or tests I should run?

Thanks a ton

sounds like one of the lines going into the evaporator, could just be a fitting at the firewall junction.

Do I have to pull off something to see that?
Is there a good pic online somewhere, where I can see what I am looking for?

It could be a failed oring or cracked fitting. You will need to pull the air intake duct to inspect and see if repairable.

Worst case would be a crack on the evaporator side of the connection. This would require pulling the evaporator to repair.

System should be vacuumed before recharging since pressure went to atmposphere, allowing air/moisture to enter.

good luck
