hey, im not that great with cars barely learning but I have a 1995 honda accord 2.2 4 cyl manual and I was wondering how I found out what kind of engine I have? I heard look for serial numbers in engine bay and this is all I could find P2U5-6017710 & 17206 lol idk what that is if anybody could please help me out..

 

There are a few ways to figure out what engine you have. If your car has a stock engine, you either have a F22B1 (EX) or F22B2 (LX, DX, and SE) engine.

1. To find the stamped number, look at the front of the engine near the transmission. The number is stamped on the engine block to the left of the exhaust manifold and the front motor mount. It will be F22B..... you are just concerned with the first five numbers.

2. Look at the valve cover. Does it say honda vtec or honda 16 valve?

3. The VIN will tell you what engine you have. I am at a different computer, so I can not look at my shop manual.

 

I have ex accord , says VTEC umm I couldn't find ant other number..

 

Well assuming its the stock engine then its a F22B1.
