how do i know if i have the s-matic transmission?

alright guys...i need some help! i bought the f20b dohc motor with auto transmisson....because i dont want to convert it to a manual!!! but i was reading up on what i got,,,n i found out that i might have the s-matic transmission...i have the codes on the transmission( 2 stickers are on it with codes)...but cant find good enough info...so can anyone help me out n tell me if i have the s-matic or not? n if i do...where would i find the gear box for it? by the way i have a 99 honda accord ex...n the motor n tranmisson (f20b dohc) i just got is a year 2000....help...thanks

Looks like it should have this code on it if it is the s matic. MCJA2051961

As far as installing it in a 93 Accord goes, it seems like it would be a lot of work. You would somehow have to source the computer, and shifter assembly/wiring. Not an easy task when the car was pretty rare to begin with and never sold in the United States.

You would then have to custom install the shifter and somehow figure out what wires go where, not an easy task when you can't go to autozone and get a manual that tells you how.

To me it doesn't seem worth it. Heck I'd rather swap it for a manual transmission than try and install the one you want. But to each their own.

well my code says mcja-2035146...it came out of a 2000 accord sir and its going in a 1999 honda accord ex....when i bought the engine n transmisson 2 weeks ago...i did some xtra research n found out that it may be the s-matic....thats just a bonus for me in the future but for now im just gonna use it as a regular automatic....but it would be nice to know if its a s-matic..for future reference

I'm guessing since the mcja is the same it is, I think the rest is just the individual part number. But I can't find much info on them.

i know...me either!! im getting ready to call the honda company in japan..assuming i can talk to someone who speaks english so i can find out if it is or not for sure!!! and if it is i would like to convert the gearbox over so that i can use that s-matic they way it should be used...lol have you ever read up on the s-matic yet? if not i can leave u the link...its the best tiptronic tranny out there that they made...
