Default How do you replace the rear seatbelts in a 2000 sedan?

Hi guys,

My chewed up the rear seatbelts in our 2000 LX. I got some new belts, but I don't know how to get to the mechanisms. Do I need to remove the rear deck? Or can I get to them from underneath? It is the drivers side and center belts in the back seat.

TIA,
Alex

I have no idea about the sides.... I'd assume you'll have to pull the backseat out for the middle seat belt.

Buy a haynes repair manual and see what it says in there

Lol, that was supposed to read dog. Brainfarts.

The rear seat folds down, so I assume the deck needs to come out, and the bottom needs to pop out to get to the other side. I just hope I don't need to remove the deck, that's never fun.

The side seatbelts bolt into the C-pillar, the middle one bolts onto the deck (in the speaker grille) I believe, but the deck does not have to come out. There is a 10mm bolt holding the bottom of the rear seat down where the back and bottom meet, near the middle. Once that is removed, the bottom pulls up and out. The plastic side panels pop off with a little force, and that's where the spring and lock mechanism are housed. They're bolted in with ridiculously large bolts (14mm, 15mm, or 17mm)

Do you happen to know if the same applies to a '99 Accord sedan ? The outside, passenger belt on ours had been cut and I need all (3) belts in case we take the Accord vs the Odyssey.

It appears that I'd be able to access most of the belt and mechanism if I can remove the fabric-covered side piece. I just don't know how it's secured. The bottom seat-cushion may also need removed to access the bottom-most bolt. How does it come out ?

P.S. Yes, I know this is an old thread.... Why start a new one for the same topic on practically the same car ?

Does anyone know if the instruction above applies to the 2007 accord? Same story. My dog (not lion or chewbacca) chewed up the rear driver side seat belt.... Does anyone know if I can find a diagram of all the bolts and panels of the back seat?
