Default How do you tighten the steering wheel adjustment handle?

I have the steering wheel set to the highest upward position. When I grab the wheel to get out or pull down slightly on the steering wheel, the steering wheel slides down, even though the adjustment handle is in the parked upward position. Also, the handle to adjust the steering wheel will sometimes fall downfrom the parked upward position. Is there a way to tighten this lever and maintain the steering wheel in the locked position?

remove the lower steering column shroud and you should be able to see the tensioner

I seperated the two halves of plastic steering wheel shroud to expose the tensioner assembly. I still don't know how to tighten the tensioner? What do I look for? What tool?

try looking in a service manual. There is a link in the diy section to a bunch of service manuals.

you don't need the spring scale, just slightly adjust it until it feels like it used to.
