Default how to fit an exhaust

94-96 accord aerodeck 2.2i es manual/petrol (wagon/estate)
replacing central and rear silencers.

hi,
could anyone please give advice on fitting the above two parts to my vehicle?
what i am most confused about is do i need to use the exhaust paste on the gaskets? or does everything just bolt together? i presume the presence of the springs in the joint means there should be room for movement between the parts? also the exhaust paste states "not to be used on catalytic converters"??

i have the following parts:
central silencer (behind cat)
rear silencer
exhaust paste
gasket (looks like hardened wire wool)
gasket (steel metal ring)

thanks in advance.

Not sure what advice you are seeking but I wouldn't use the paste upstream of the CAT, which shouldn't be an issue since the silencers are both downstream. Yes the springs are there to allow for some movement/expansion.
