How to locate 97 Honda LX Primary 02 Sensor?
97 Honda Accord LX has engine light on. I have it scanned by the Honda dealer. I was told to replace the Primary 02 Sensor. What is it and how to locate it? Is it easy to be replaced? Thank you for your help?

I have asked the Honda dealer where is the Primary 02 Sensor because there are two sensors, the front and back sensor. I was told the Primary 02 Sensor is the front one and it can be seen. Can anyone tell what tools needed and provide instructions how to remove/exchange it.

Ok, four cyl, answered the first question by the pic- hope that is your car as that would be the pri sensor.
There is an O2 sensor socket that will make this job easy. Some places rent them, I bought mine?
Pretty simple. Disconnect the wires, grey connector to the left in the pic. Place the socket around/over the wires and slide it down on the sensor -makining sure it connects. Then a 3/8 racthet or 1 inch wrench - you'll have to see which works - and remove. Then install the new one, re-connect the wires. Re-set the ecu and done........
Then, I'd think about changing the hoses in the the future. They look like the original one(s)-can only see the upper in the pic.

Sorry, I was refering to the upper and lower rad hoses. In the first pic you can see "crud" building up where the hose meets the housing. No it is not a must while doing the O2. Just saying they look like the OE, which means they are 14 years old with XX miles...Honda make good "stuff", IMO, but things wear out.
So don't get caught up with my comment, the O2 seems to be most important right now.

Is there much difference between Denso and Bosch oxygen sensor?
Hi! I have taken out the sensor. I saw Honda uses Denso oxygen sensor but Auto Zone sells Bosch parts. Is there much difference between Denso and Bosch oxygen sensor? Do you know where to order reliable Denso parts?

I would use the Denso sensor. You can go to densoaftermarket.com and look up your O2 sensor. The site will link you to places that sell them. I got mine from autoparts123.com and their site is listed as a vendor.

I bought oxygen sensors from oxygensensors.com a couple of times, free and fast shipping. Here is a link for your car:
oxygensensors.com/catalog.php?&pkey=1167522
The price for the Denso is $62 (free shipping over $49).
On a side note: At another forum, a mechanic at an independent Honda shop told me from his experience that Bosch oxygen sensors sometimes are just repackaged Denso; but, you take a chance it may not be Denso though.

"Up" is the one I think you need. The "up" can be called the primary. The "down" is the secondary.
As far as the wires, I really like them with the connector included, I don;t like splicing wires...yes it costs a bit more sometimes.
